Evaluation and Improvement of Evacuation Safety for Typical Residential Community in China

摘要

The core issue of gated community is “enclosed”, which isreflected by surrounding boundaries and few entrance/exits.However, this doesn’t violate the residential and earthquakeprevention planning regulation in China. From the considerationof management, the numbers of main entrance/exits are limitedto minimum. Fixing the public green land and internal roadplanning referred to the requirement of evacuation shelter androute could improve safety situation after earthquake happening.Furthermore, improving the residential planning regulation isthe fundamental solution for safety issues in gated community.
