Having standard operating procedures (SOPs) for lead service line replacement is anrnimportant element of utility distribution system operations practice. Such SOPsrnencompass key skills for distribution system operators that translate the state of thernscience on reducing customer’s exposure to lead into practice in the field. The followingrnpaper provides an initial outline for general utility SOPs for lead service line replacementrn(LSLR). The contents of these SOPs will be developed with input from several utilityrnvolunteers.
