DiabetesCarer: A Mobile Toolkit for Diabetics

Around the world, diabetes not only creates a major burden on people's health but also on national economies. To date, the global response to diabetes has not been able to curb its growth. We need to develop more innovative tools and get more people involved in fighting the global epidemic of diabetes. Mobile Health (mHealth) technologies have shown great potential in offering such tools by taking advantage of the rapidly developing mobile computing platform. In this paper, we present DiabetesCarer, a mHealth toolkit that aims to help diabetics by effectively monitor patients' conditions, manage their home health procedure and adopt more healthy behaviors.
