Contrast of Water Resources Status and Water Reuse in China and Sweden

摘要

China is a serious drought and water shortage country. In recent years, the demand for water is becoming increasingly larger. But water shortage and pollution form a vicious cycle, which not only restricts the sustainable development of economy and society, but also even poses a threat to human survival. The utilization and recycling of industry and municipal sewage is the effective solution to water shortage and pollution. Sweden is a country with relatively adequate water resources. But from the rational utilization of water resources in the long-term considerations, wastewater reclamation and utilization are very necessary. As the status of water resources, economic and social conditions are different, Sweden water reclamation and reuse methods and management models are related to a different way from China. The paper introduces the water resources status and analyzes wastewater treatment and utilization in China and Sweden from management system, application fields and modes, water quality safety and economy. Through the introduction of status, the paper compares the difference of water reuse in two countries, analyzes the problems, and identifies the future development direction of research and application.
