摘要

The paper analyzes the important role of the tenonand-mortise work of wooden component in the structural mechanics of ancient Chinese architecture. On the basis of the characters of ancient architectural structure and previous fire cases, the paper proposes to protect the tenon-and-mortise work of wooden component with the technology of preventing fire through flame retardance. Slowing the burning of the tenon-andmortise work to keep its structural mechanic functions is an effective measure of preserving complete structure of ancient buildings and retarding their collapse.
