摘要

Low intensity conflicts (LIC) become crucial in militaryrnoperations. They are situations where contending groupsrnare involved in a confrontation below the level of conventionalrnwar. To protect minorities and maintain or restore anrnacceptable level of peace a military force can be employed.rnSuch a system is principally characterised by the importancernof the interactions between and within factions. Salientrnproperties of these interactions are their asymmetry, rntheir effects at different scales and their dynamic nature.rnThe multi-agent paradigm and the dynamic structure systemrnare particularly suitable ways to represent a system withrnsuch characteristics. This paper proposes a Discrete EVentsrnSpecification (DEVS) of autonomous agents and uses arnrelated dynamic hierarchical structure approach to enablernmore realistic training of military personnel and scenariornanalysis.
