A NEW METHOD FOR MULTI-HOMING AND MULTI-INTERFACES ADDRESS SELECTING BASED ON MOBILE IPV6

As a result of the vast Internet growth, multi-homing technology is being extensively utilized to keep connectivity to important networks. Meanwhile, the simultaneous or selective use of several interfaces allows a mobile node to spread flows among its different interfaces. Accordingly, a mechanism is needed for the MN to select which address should be used when a new communication flow is initiated. In this paper, we define a multi-homing address list and propose an address selecting scheme which concerns user preferences, types of interfaces, link characteristics, and some flow attributes. We also elaborate the scenarios of multiple addresses and interfaces, and analyze the address selection method.
