Japanese industrial standard desiccator (JIS A 1460) method has been used to measure furniture, laminated flooring, and construction materials and so on. It should be need to treat processes of finishing, which are painting, coating and surface material overlay. Thesematerials have been overlaid coated and non-coated surface materials formaldehyde emission of particleboard (PB) and medium density fiber board (MDF) as on MDF, PB. The purpose of this study is to measure the formaldehyde emission from surface-treatment such as coated-surface materials and non-coating surface materials with edge sealing of MDF and to confirm an effect of formaldehyde emission reduction between coated-surface materials and non-coated surface on MDF using desiccator method.
