In this paper, the traditional method is developed to improve the efficiency of aluminum integral fin-tube heat exchanger (AIF tube) - a new type heat exchanger. An automated optimization integrating method was built based on the multi-disciplinary design optimization platform-iSIGHT. The influence of the fin spacing, fin height, fin thickness and fin inclination angle on the performance of AIF heat exchanger was studied by using the parameterized AIF 3-D model. Combining the CAD and CFD software tools, the model can be easily modified and analyzed. The method can greatly eased people from intervening in the CFD process and repeating work. The simulated results show that the influence on heat transfer decreases in the order of the fin spacing, fin height, fin thickness and fin inclination angle. And the optimal parameters of the Aluminum integral in-tube heat exchanger were given.
