Awareness modelling and its application in cooperative networkmanagement

Although communication among the collaborating workers in businessprocesses has always been an important issue to business organisations,there is no measure for the effectiveness of collaboration. This paperpresents a model based on “awareness levels” to measure thelevel of cooperation amongst different human roles in a businessprocess. The hypothesis is that collaboration among various roles withinan enterprise environment is improved by maintaining the awarenesslevels of individuals at its desired level. This paper illustrates theawareness model through its application in a large telecommunicationservice provider organisation. According to this study, the awarenessmodel seems to be able to explain some problems of cooperation in thisbusiness environment.
