摘要

An optimization problem for QoS mapping overrnprotocol layers is formalized by taking the ETSI SatelliternIndependent-Service Access Point (SI-SAP) as technologicalrnreference. The joint optimization of loss and delay performancernmetrics, together with the presence of SI-SAP QoS mappingrnoperations, introduces the generalization of the regular concept ofrnEquivalent bandwidth. This leads to the study of a properrnmeasurement-based control, able to capture the most stringentrnQoS requirement over time (between loss and delay) and thernrelated instantaneous bandwidth need at the lower layer of thernprotocol stack. The control methodology is tested through realrnfading and traffic traces to highlight its effectiveness for real timerncontrol of QoS mapping operations.
