Synthesis of Hierarchical Topology with Technology Considerations

摘要

This paper presents iCAD, a computeraided -rndesign tool for automatically synthesizing application-specificrnnetworks. iCAD chooses network devices (such as ATM,rnEthernet and IP Router), integrates and optimizes the selectedrndevices in a 3-level network topology. An evolutionaryrnapproach is used to search tchre tedis design space forrnminimal 3-level network design cost while satisfying thernprotocol translation and network performance. Thernexperimental results for several network designs indheicate trneffectiveness of iCAD in finding good network designs withrnvarious technologies in less than fifteen minutes
