Recently genetic algorithm (GA) has been applied tornsolve the problems of production scheduling. Manyrnresearchers have verified that GA is useful inrnproduction scheduling. In order to obtain betterrnperformance, it is necessary to adjust the geneticrnparameters such as crossover rate and mutation rate inrndifferent production problems. Traditionally, therncrossover rate and the mutation rate of the wholernevolution are usually fixed. However, it is difficult torndetermine how to perform the genetic parameters suchrnas population size, crossover rate, mutation rate forrncontrollers who have no such domain knowledge. Inrnthis paper, we use the self-adaptive genetic algorithmrn(SAGA) to design an automatically adaptivernscheduling system for elastic knitted fabric production.rnThe system can automatically adjust the rates ofrncrossover and mutation and is designed to help thernproduction controllers arrange production rapidly tornfulfill customer orders. In addition, the system is easyrnto use, flexible, automatic and adjustable, and suitablernto the production of the elastic knitted fabrics.
