Advances in Shoe Press Sleeves

Mechanical advancements in papermaking equipment normally precede the development of optimal paper machinernconsumables. The early attempt to operate metal wires on twin-wire wet ends is a case in point. The evolution ofrnshoe press sleeves has shown steady improvement to today's successful materials and designs. This paper willrnreview the sleeve manufacturing process, show the advantages of new enhanced polyurethanes, and providernapplication guidelines for the wide choice of venting alternatives available.
