The kinetic features of delignification in green liquor (GL) modified pulping versus conventional kraftrnpulping are the subject of this study. The use of a GL pretreatment can increase the rate of pulping byrnimproving the kinetics of the onset of the bulk delignification stage. GL-modified pulping also assists thernchemical reactions occurring in the pulping process. A correlation between chemical performance andrnlignin removal was established for GL-modified pulping. Pulping chemicals were mainly consumed duringrnbulk delignification, and the efficiency of reactivity for the hydrosulfide and hydroxide anions inrndelignification were 2 and 1.6 times higher, respectively, than conventional kraft delignification.
