Downhole permanent monitoring sensors offer unique optionsrnfor continuous evaluating flow regimes, completion integrity,rnformation properties, flow assurance effectiveness and optimalrnproduction/injection operations. The use of temperature datarnfor vertical injection wells has been widely applied in practicernand has been thoroughly discussed in literature. The problemsrnoccur for Distributed Temperature Sensors (DTS) installed inrnhorizontal well due to small variations of geothermalrntemperature along the wellbore. Unlike the conventionalrngauges, DTS data are acquired in both temporal and spatialrndimensions that exploit the great potential for real-timernoperation optimization.rnWe present an interpretation technique for analysis ofrntemperature profiles recorded with fiber optic distributedrntemperature sensor (DTS) in horizontal water injectors.rnSimple semi analytical models were developed for simulatingrnmass and heat transfer in horizontal well and collector duringrninjection and warm back. Two inversion procedures based onrnthese models were developed allowing calculation ofrninjectivity profile from temperature profiles recorded duringrninjection and warm-back. These procedures were successfullyrnvalidated on CFD numerical model and tested on field data.
