Review of 17 Real-Time, Environment, Response, and Integrity Monitoring Systems onFloating Production Platforms in the Deep Waters of the Gulf of Mexico

A brief technical description of 17 Offshore PlatformrnEnvironment, Response and Integrity Monitoring Systems thatrnare currently deployed in deep water in the Gulf of Mexico isrnpresented. The rationale for making each of the measurementsrnand the measurement approach is described. The paperrnprovides a succinct, tabular summary listing the platformsrnwith descriptions of the various response/integrity andrnenvironment subsystems installed.rnSelected, noteworthy, measurement technologies are discussedrnincluding very high accuracy motion measurement systems forrnlow motion platforms, high resolution/band width riser tensionrnand bending moment sensing systems, tendon tensionrnmonitoring, SCR top static and dynamic responsernmeasurement, wave measurement from platforms and currentrnprofiling from the platforms are discussed in more detail.rnShore-side networking with the monitoring systems is alsorndiscussed. Automated daily reports and monthly reports fromrnthese platforms are discussed.
