摘要

Magnetic Abrasive Finishing (MAF) is a new polishing technology that applies to model with free -form curvature. Due to its flexibility and self-adaptability, it has great advantage in complex surface product manufacturing. This paper made a systematic study on the techniques of MAF and automatic finishing device of surface with free-form curvature. Developed experimental platform based on NC milling machine, made some effort on the design of magnetic path and magnetic polishing tool. In addition, succeeded in developing prototype system-software based on AdvanTech PCL-839 motion card using Microsoft VC++ tool. We can control the movement of 3-Axis manually, automatic controlled by standard NC G-code as well. What's more, the software also supports functions that dynamically show the work-piece's data model in 3D way as well as processing path via the OpenGL graphic interface. Finally, I performed magnetic abrasive polishing experiments on work pieces with free-form curvature under the experiment platform.
