This course covers the application of model predictive control to complex pulp and paper processes fromrnthe initial stages of process bump testing and modeling to the final online controller testing. You will buildrna controller for a simulated plant running in real time and learn controller design techniques that can bernapplied to a variety of processes. Your classroom experience will include a combination of lecture andrnhands-on experience with software tools.rnDuring the course, you will learn and apply the following:rn1. PRBS bump testing to generate data for process modelsrn2. Process modeling using system identification toolsrn3. Design and off-line tuning of a model predictive controllerrn4.
