LAND COVER / LAND USE MAP OF GERMANY BASED ON MERIS FULLRESOLUTION DATA

摘要

This paper describes first results of a land cover / landrnuse (LCLU) classification of Germany, developed at thernGerman Remote Sensing Data Center (DLR-DFD). Thernautomated, yearly updated product is based on MERISrnlevel 2 full resolution data.rnThe classification procedure consists of two main steps,rnnamely a multispectral and a multitemporal analysis.rnThe legend of the LCLU map is defined according tornthe classification system LCCS developed by FAO andrnUNEP. The new product is dedicated indicating landrncover / land use changes at medium spatial resolutionrnwhich are of importance in research areas such asrnclimate change.rnAt a later date, the spatial extension of the map to thernentire area of Europe will be performed.
