Temporal decorrelation and inhomogeneous atmospheric conditions in tropical climates restrict thernsuccessful application of classical differentialrninterferometry for displacement detection. The recentlyrndeveloped ‘Permanent Scatterer’ interferometry canrnovercome these difficulties by analyzing phase historiesrnof coherent point targets within a multi-interferogramrnframework. Temporal phase unwrapping is applied tornobtain a displacement rate estimate based on a linearrndeformation model. Two tracks of 11 and 21 scenes ofrnERS-1/2 SAR data were used to derive an estimate ofrnthe displacement rate field in Bangkok by this approach.rnThe results are compared with precise levellingrnmeasurements.
