Every water utility is confronted with the responsibility of maintaining public firernhydrants along with the corresponding need to maintain adequate records.rnThis paper presents a case study starting with the development of a request forrnproposals based on implementation strategies desired by the utility’srnmaintenance managers. The desired software program would be incorporatedrnlater into a water and sewer information management system as one of manyrnmodules addressing the spectrum of utility operations and maintenance.
