The electric and electromagnetic properties of carbon coils grown under the repeatable optimum conditions of pyrolyticacetylene were investigated. The electric property of mono coil was evaluated as the relation between electric resistance andelongation or temperature. The electric resistance was increased with elevated elongation of the coil. The behavior of electricresistance at ranging from 50 to 120 °C was similar to that of a semiconductor. The electromagnetic wave absorption of carboncoils, carbon fibers and graphite were respectively mixed with silicone resin, leading to the composites to evaluate theabsorbent properties of electromagnetic waves. The absorbent properties of electromagnetic wave were measured in thefrequency zone from 50 MHz to 13.51 GHz. The absorbent degree of carbon coils tended to be greater than that of other carbonmaterials. The effects of the length and weight of carbon coils, the heat-treatment on the frequency dependence of reflectionloss were investigated.
