摘要

Pure aluminum powder was sintered by a pulse current pressure (PCP) sintering and a hot press (HP) sintering methods. Microstructure and mechanical properties were compared for the compact produced by these compression sintering methods. Effect of electric current was studied by a sample temperature measurement and a wire model experiment. Results obtained were as follows. (1) Maximum tensile strength of PCP sintered compacts was over 60MPa and the elongation was 40%. This value outweigh the HP compact. (2) During the PCP sintering process, Joule heat by electric current passing through the Al powder raise the powder temperature by itself. (3) High mechanical properties of PCP sintered compact is owing to the oxide layer disruption and adsorbed gas removal which is supposed to be brought by high temperature local points in the sintering specimen due to electric pulse current.
