Integrated Planning and Operations for Supply Chain Management

Motivated by a problem arising in the steel industry, we consider the integrated facility location, distribution andrninventory control for a single-dimensional product. We provide a mixed-integer programming formulation and arndecomposition approach that determines the optimal distribution network and inventory policy. We discuss anrnextension to the case where demand rates are unknown, and indicate directions for future research.
