GSM polarization diversity : an interesting solution to improve the radio link budget in urban zone

摘要

Polarization diversity is used in order to improve the link budget of a GSM network in urban and rural areas. Measurements results show that benefits are clearly obtained on RF up-link budget for urban areas. However, for rural areas, this kind of diversity is not encouraged due to the poor improvements on the same link budget.
