The subject matter of this paper refers to frequency analysis of acoustic interfering signals generated by corona discharges in the equipment and phase conductors of overhead power lines. In the Introduction, the phenomenon of corona discharge occurrence, which can disturb partial discharges (PDs) measurements using the acoustic emission (AE) method, has been characterized. As examples of the measuring results obtained time runs, amplitude and energy density spectra of the AE signals generated by corona discharges in overhead power lines of nominal values of 110 kV and 400 kV, respectively, have been presented. For the frequency spectra determined the descriptors that characterize them have been calculated and their values listed in tables. In the Conclusions, the results of a comparative analysis of the interfering signals of the AE pulses generated by PDs occurring in oil insulations of power appliances have been presented.
