Small parameter changes result in perturbed power variables e + Δe, f + Δf at the power ports of the elements of a bond graph. The elements in a bond graph G can be replaced appropriately so that a new true bond graph G for the incremental efforts Δe and incremental flows Δf is obtained. Prom this bond graph, called incremental bond graph in this paper, first order unnormalized sensitivities of the initial system model can be determined by deriving the equations in symbolic state space form . The method is applicable to bond graphs with non-linear multiport elements. For illustration purpose examples are presented for which the derivation of the equations can be performed manually.
