Limited slip differentials have foud increase usage in automotive industry, especially for light trucks such as pickups and SUVs. The present paper describes the development of Matlab/Simulink model of two different limited slip differentials. Bond graph modeling was used for the model development. The model was used for the drivability study in the case of straight ahead driving. In particular, the model was used for an investigation of the influence of differential damping and half-shaft stiffness as the asymmetry on tip in/back out driveability. The study is supported by Root Locus analysis and simulation results.
