FREE LATERAL VIBRATION OF COLUMNS AND BEAMS WITH ARBITRARY THIN-WALLED CROSS SECTIONS

摘要

This paper surveys the literature on vibration of axially loaded beams in general, and thin-walled, open-section beams with and without axial load. Finally, for what is believed to be the first time, a solution is presented for the problem of vibration of a thin-walled beam subject to transverse preload.
