TTT diagram calculations of the formation and dissolution of oxide, nitride, and sulfide in the weld pool show that the most stable inclusion is AI_2O_3, but this will change with the alloy composition. The calculations show that most inclusions will experience not only growth but also dissolution during their residence in the weld pool. Welding parameters influence inclusion characteristics dramatically.
