Blasting of hollow water filled concrete constructions

摘要

This paper presents the results of 4 different cases of demolition of hollow concrete objects, using of water as a medium to transmit the shock wave to the concrete walls. The results show that it is possible to reduce the amount of explosives, compared to common practice, and still gain a very good crushing of the concrete. The relation of the degree of demolition to the reduction of charge size is analysed. This method can be used on all hollow concrete constructions, with a wall thickness up to 40 cm.
