The method is for the explosion-free blasting of materials, such as stone and concrete and involves a drill hole filled with blasting material mixed with water, principally on the basis of unslaked lime, so that through heat development and expansion pressure the blasting effect occurs. At least the filling area of the drill hole is provided with a roughness, which is greater than the normal drill smoothness. The roughness is provided by a cylindrical insert grid (20,21), which is fitted in the drill hole before the commencement or after a part filling.
