Net shape investment castings are being specified for an significant number of modern airframe structures. Dramatic cost reductions have been realized without weight increase or impact on safety margins, when replacing traditional machined from solid (hogouts) or fabricated sheet metal components (assemblies), with high integrity D357 alloy investment castings.
