Review of titanium microstructures

Titanium alloys are used in a variety of applications in the aerospace and other industries. This alloy is used whenever high strength and low weight are desired. The microstructure of titanium alloys is reviewed. Three titanium alloy types are discussed: (1) Alpha Peritectoid; (2) Beta Eutectoid; and (3) Beta Isomorphous. Typical microstructure resulting from each alloy type is examined.
