The flame retardancy of polyamide-6 (PA6)/aluminium diethylphosphinate (A1Pi) compound was greatly improved by a novel synthesized DOPO-based diepoxide (DEP).PA6/A1Pi/DEP compound passed the V-0 rating in UL94 test with LOI of 32.6% at 13 wt% A1Pi and 1 wt%DEP loading.The deteriorated mechanical strength of PA6/A1Pi was surpassingly compensated by in-situ chain-extension with DEP.
