This paper describes the development of a new diagnostic technique for the detection of low voltage electric motor's damaged or loose connectors through the application of the vibration analysis method by using the high frequency detection (HFD) spectrum which to date is mainly used for diagnosing mechanical impacts and bearing failures. The diagnosis was confirmed afterwards through the use of the electric motor current analysis method.
