WinCIR! A Basic Circuit Theory Computer Learning Aid

This paper describes a computer learning aid for Basic Circuit Theory courses, such as those at the Fresman or Sophomore levels. This aid, which is called WinCIR! runs on an IBM compatible PC under Windows. It is written in Visual BAsic and it is very attractive to students because it is very easy to use. Some tasks that can be accomplished with WinCIR! are the following: 1) It can be used as a tutorial on circuit theory 2) Evaluation. It has a number of problems to be solved by students and get grades immediately. 3) It can be used to introduce students to design concepts. 4) It can be used to perform simulations on Pspice. 5) It has available a set of biographies for circuit theory pioneers and founders. 6) It has available a help option for information on WinCIR! topics and characteristics.
