摘要

An accurate and efficient method for analyzing an inset dielectric guide is presente dusing the fourier transform technique with teh perfectly mateched boundary.A virtual boundary of perfectly electric conductor (PEC) or perfectly magnetic conductor (PMC) is assumed in the upper semi-infinite region over the guide.Under the assumed boundary,the fields inthe bouded region are represented by the Fourier integral and matched to those inside the groove expressed in terms of normal modes.Then an infinite set of linear equations are derived for calculating the propagation constants of the guide.The convergence of the solutions is very fast.The numerical results for single-and double-layered inset dielectric guides agree well with those of literatures.
