Reduction of EM Radiation From Electronic Equipment at Design Stage

A rationalized approach is introduced in this paper for reducing electromagnetic (EM) radiation form electronic equipment by providing shielding in some section of the PCB. An algorithm is developed and implemented to find the appropriate section where shielding is necessary. A composite CAD package is employed to predict EM radiation from PCB with and without shielding. This method of reduction of EM radiation is well described and validated experimentally. Results obtained are gratifying.
