Wood Ash Utilization and Granulation to Fertilizers

This paper discusses the utilization possibilities and the feasibility of a process for granulation of wood ash into fertilizers. Nutrients and chemicals can be added to produce commercial grade fertilizer. The feasibility mainly depends on the plant nutrients content of wood ash and the production cost. Parameters such as the moisture, the heat, the fraction yields and the granule strength are discussed. A process block diagram to produce granular fertilizers from wood ash, and the costs with cost sensitivities are presented.
