This paper studies an implementation of the Multiple-Task Triple Modular Redundancy (MTTMR) technique applied to a scenario involving a controlling application in an automobile factory. Active replication, namely Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR), is used to tolerate faults in the controlling application. The Manufacturing Message Specification (MMS) is used as a communication protocol between the controlling application and remote devices in the factory. We show how MTTMR improves the system's performance and continues to guarantee the fault tolerance of the TMR technique.
