Much progress has been shown in R&D of conventional organic electroluminescent (EL) diodes in which a variety of organic materials have been used as an emissive or a charge transport layer. Thickness of the organic layers in the EL diodes constructed from vacuum-sublimed films is generally less than the wavelength of the emitted light.
