An explicit expression is derived for the eigenfrequencies of aEuler-Bernoulli beam with damping modeled by an integro-PDE proposed byD.L. Russell. It is shown that the asymptotic distribution of theeigenspectrum is similar to that of a beam with a uniform dampingconstant acting opposite to the rate of change of the bending moment
