Abstract: Propagation of partially coherent pulse trains in single- mode optical fibers is considered within the framework of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation. Statistical properties of chaotic modulated pulses are evaluated by modelling them after cyclostationary processes. Interesting spectra are obtained exhibiting the influence of self phase modulation on these random signals.!2
