摘要

The findings lead to several preliminary conclusions. Exergy analysis is a useful, convenient and straightforward method for assessing thermal generating stations, which yields informative insights into performance. The results of exergy analyses should be used, along with other pertinent information (e.g., economics, safety, reliability, and social and political implications), to guide efficiency-improvement efforts for such stations. Also, efficiency-improvement efforts should focus on plant components responsible for the largest exergy losses: the steam generator (where large losses occur from combustion and heat transfer across large temperature differences), the turbines, the electrical generator and the transformer. Design and optimization should also account for exergy considerations.
