This paper evaluates Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) generic steam generator tube rupture (SGTR) procedures using arnsmall event tree and large fault tree probabilistic risk assessment technique (PRA). The analyses focused on the core damagernfrequencies (CDF) differences obtained from different methods of responding to an SGTR event. The PRA results indicaternthat:rn(a) in case of a tube failure in one SG, less than a 1% decrease in core damage frequency can be achieved usingrnboth steam generators (SGs) as opposed to isolating the affected SG,rn(b) the CDF could increase by an order of magnitude if both SGs are isolated in the case of simultaneous tubernruptures in both SGs, andrn(c) the CDF is dominated by operator errors in all analyzed cases.
