This investigation presents the relationships between electrical properties and thermal treatment of a commercialized X7R material, X5000, from Ferro Transelco Co. USA. Both of dummy and mono-layer products are prepared by ceramic multilayer capacitor (CMC) manufacturing processes and pressure induced sintering. The electrical properties; such as: K-value. Tan #delta# breakdown voltage, DC bias, IR and T.C. characteristics have been evaluated for various dielectric thicknesses. The microstructure is investigated to translate the effect of thermal treatments on the electrical properties.
