摘要

The purpose of this research was to investigate the nondestructivernultrasonic wave response in a stainless steel casting ingot with differentrnsize, shape, and orientation of shrinkage defects. The ultrasonic testingrnwas implemented on an ingot of size 13×13×34 cm in dimension and thernexperimental results showed that with the real time B-scan image, therncharacteristics of shrinkage can be better evaluated. In addition, thernmetallographic image of shrinkage was also obtained to correlate thernultrasonic signal.
