The GALILEO Frequency Structureand Signal Design

This paper outlines the tentative Galileo frequencyrnstructure and signal design being developed by thernEuropean Commission’s Galileo Signal Task Forcern(Signal Task Force of the European Commission). ThernSignal Task Force is a working group supporting therndesign of the Galileo frequency and signal plan.rnAfter discussing the various frequency and signalrnrequirements the present tentative Galileo frequency andrnsignal plan is outlined. Detailed comments explain thernmotivation for the choice of signal in the lower, middlernand upper L-band. GPS/Galileo interference analysisrnshows that the degradation on GPS signals in L1 is belowrnthe ITU permissible interference.
